The X-Ray Fluorescence Lab

Researchers from The Field Museum's Anthropology Department joined forces to study Maya Obsidian using a portable X-Ray fluorescence spectrometer. The use of non-destructive technologies has allowed researchers to uncover stories behind objects from the collections.
